To say nobody is doing it is a stretch. If you build your house with aolar in mind you van definitely get 1x+ your needs.. this means a 1 story with a well thought out roofline, etc. problem is everyone has 3k sqft homes with a 800sqft roof thats shaded most the time

60k should buy you an ungodly amount of reserve power in batteries. 24k should be plenty of money for texas where the sun will burn u up. Plus use mini splits the SEERS are 2x more efficient at 22 vs 16 for a regular AC

I am installing panels on the roof of my pole barn. I am curious on the proper way to run the wires/ground. The wires will go from the roof, down the side of the pole barn to the disconnect and then into conduit in the ground to my solar shed. How should I run the wires from the panels over the roof into the disconnect? Put a box in, run the wires from the panels and ground into that box then into conduit and down to the disconnect? It is a shingle roof. This will be inspected, so needs to be to code. Thanks!
